Purple Gossip has the right to refuse the supply of goods ordered by you at our
discretion in our online store.
1. Grading
All devices are graded from A–C, to indicate the condition and quality of the model.
- Grade A - The front and rear housing, lens and keypad will be in
overall excellent condition. Batteries will not be new. The device will be thoroughly
cleaned and all memories reset and cleared. All menu applications and touch screens
will be fully working. All software, LCD/LED lights, audio systems will be fully
functional. Devices will not have water damage.
- Grade B - The front and rear housing, lens and keypad will be in
overall good condition. Batteries will not be new. The device will be thoroughly
cleaned and all memories reset and cleared. All menu applications and touch screens
will be fully working. All software, LCD/LED lights, audio systems will be fully
functional. Devices will not have water damage.
- Grade C - The front and rear housing, lens and keypad will be in
overall average condition. Batteries will not be new. The device will be thoroughly
cleaned and all memories reset and cleared. All menu applications and touch screens
will be fully working. All software, LCD/LED lights, audio systems will be fully
functional. Devices will not have water damage.
All devices have been reset to factory settings and tested. If they are mobile phones
they are Pay As You Go and do not include SIM cards.
2. Deliveries and Delivery Charges
Prices are structured as shown below. Please contact us for further information
regarding Royal Mail Courier Insurance values.

Via Royal Mail - Recorded / Special Delivery:
- All deliveries are made within working hours and require a signature. If there is
no-one available to sign for the package a card shall be left and your goods will
be held at your local collection office. Proof of ID & address will be required
when collecting your package. If a collection is not made within the given time
period - your parcel will be returned to Purple Gossip and we will contact you to
arrange a second delivery. In this instance a second delivery charge will be made.
- All orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days after full payment has been received.
- Purple Gossip cannot be made responsible for any delays with the Royal Mail service.
- All deliveries are sent to the credit/debit card holder's address.
- In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to use alternative methods of
shipment.
- Please note that, currently, we only ship goods within the UK & Channel Isles. Orders
for customers outside the UK will not be processed.
3. Refunds and Returns – 6 month money back guarantee for mobile phones & accessories
and 14 Day money back guarantee for Devices
Purple Gossip operates a 6 month guarantee period for Mobile Phones and Accessories,
and 14 working days for Devices. Any goods that are deemed to be faulty within these
guarantee time periods will need to be returned to Purple Gossip at the customer’s
cost. A full refund or exchange including cost of posting the item/s shall be credited
to the customer.
Similarly, goods that are deemed unsuitable (within the first 7 days after delivery)
will need to be returned to Purple Gossip at the customer’s cost. A full refund
including cost of posting the item/s shall be credited to the customer. Any items
that the customer deems to be unsuitable after the initial 7 days will still need
to be returned at the customer’s cost. A full refund (for goods only) or an exchange
can be offered, although the cost of returning the item will not be credited. Customers
will also incur an administration fee of £5 if the item is deemed unsuitable and
notification of unsuitability is made more than 7 days after receipt of the item(s).
When returning the goods, we advise you to insure against loss or damage in transit.
Credit will not be given for goods that are subsequently lost or damaged. The cost
for the service to return items is minimal and is payable at the Post Office Counter
at the time of posting.
If the goods are faulty or damaged on arrival, then a credit will be given for the
return of the package - subject to product inspection. The responsibility & cost
of returning the goods to Purple Gossip lies with the customer.
Items should be returned in the exact condition they were received with all original
packaging, contents, instructions and inserts.
Purple Gossip will not refund faulty goods that have been damaged through misuse
or accidental damage.
Faults found after unlocking of mobile phones yourself or by using another provider
will not be the responsibility of Purple Gossip and will not be replaced or refunded.
Purple Gossip will not refund any costs for any unlocking services provided by another
company under any circumstances.

When returning the goods please include the order receipt and write on it "please
refund" and the reason for the return.
4. Acknowledgement and Acceptance of your Order
We will notify you by email to confirm receipt of your order. At this point the
contractor for our sale and your purchase of the goods shall be made on the terms
set out herein and the contract shall be formed at the place from which our Confirmation
of Order email is sent to you. You may print this page from the website to be kept
for your own records.
5. Fraud Prevention
- If an order exceeds £250, Purple Gossip may require documentation to show proof
of name and address. These can be returned by email, fax or post prior to the dispatch
of the order; we will e-mail you if this is the case.
- Details of the IP address are noted at point of purchase.
- Credit Card Fraud is considered a serious offence and legal proceedings will be
undertaken if any transaction is deemed fraudulent.
- Purple Gossip reserve the right to decline any order we suspect to be fraudulent.
- Occasionally the decision will be made not to process an order if further security
information has been requested and not obtained. The order will not be processed
and no payment will be debited from the card used to make the purchase.
6. Unlocking Mobile Phones
A selection of handsets provided by Purple Gossip have been unlocked. A list is
always provided in the phone’s specification with details of what network the phone
is compatible with. Unlocking a locked phone yourself or by another provider would
be done at your own risk and is not the responsibility of Purple Gossip. Faults
detected after attempting unlocking will be exempt from the terms & conditions.

7. Fundraising for Schools Scheme
Fundraising for Schools is managed by Purple Gossip in conjunction with The Recycling
Factory (TRF), a division of Dynamic Cassette International. A 5% commission is
paid to schools for phones purchased through Purple Gossip. In order to receive
commission, schools must have an account set up with TRF and the school’s name must
be highlighted at checkout. Commission is calculated as 5% of the sale price of
the phone, and does not include delivery costs.
Settlement of Accounts
TRF will pay commission to schools via bank transfer.
Payments will only be issued for accounts with a balance of £20.00 and payments
will be made on a monthly basis.
The issue of the bank transfer by TRF will constitute full discharge of the outstanding
balance. Where receipt of payment is disputed by the Account Holder, investigation
and the repayment of any monies will be solely at the discretion of TRF.
In the event of refunds for purchasers, commission will be deducted accordingly.
VAT Registered Account Holders
If a school is VAT registered, this must be declared when signing up for an account.
To receive payment, the Account Holder must submit an appropriate VAT invoice (TRF
will send a VAT request prior to this). On receipt by TRF, the VAT invoice must
be legible and not defected in any way. Failure to provide a valid legible VAT invoice
will result in payment being held until the appropriate documentation has been received
by TRF.
Individuals
Individuals supporting their school with this scheme simply need to reference their
school at checkout. The commission earned for the school is at no cost to the consumer.
8. Disclaimer
- The use of the products sold on our website is solely the responsibility of the
intended user, Purple Gossip will not be held responsible for an injury, accident,
illness that may occur or misuse of any product purchased from us.
- Any items with defects would be dealt with by the original manufacturers. Purple
Gossip will not admit responsibility for any item causing any damage or illness
or accident. Any product purchased from us which is supposedly defective should
be sent to the manufacturer for analysis.
- Purple Gossip is acting as a distributor of any items purchased and will not be
responsible to deal with any defective item after the stated guarantee period has
ended.
- Any side affects experienced from a product on our site will be the responsibility
of the user. Purple Gossip endeavour where possible to give accurate and concise
descriptions of items where required. Further information can be obtained by contacting
Purple Gossip or the original manufacturer by telephone, email or letter.

9. Data Protection
By placing an order with us and/or giving data to us you confirm & agree that the
information you provide will be held on Purple Gossip's database & may be shared
with other divisions within our company. We will then email our monthly e-newsletter
to the supplied email address. You can cancel subscription to the e-newsletter at
any time by emailing Purple Gossip.
