Mobile Phone Sales Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a phone from this website you agree to our terms and conditions.
Purple Gossip has the right to refuse the supply of goods ordered by you at our discretion in our online store.

 1. Grading
All handsets are graded from A–C, to indicate the condition and quality of the model.

• Grade A – The front and rear housing, battery cover and keypad will be in very good condition.  The screen and handset may have minor cosmetic damage associated with light usage.  All handset accessories (e.g. clips and grommets) are included.  Batteries will not be new.  The handset will be thoroughly cleaned and all phone memories reset and cleared. 
• Grade B – The front and rear housing, battery cover and keypad will be in good condition.  The screen and handset may have some cosmetic damage associated with normal/heavy usage.  All handset accessories (e.g. clips and grommets) may not always be included.  Batteries will not be new.  Phones will be thoroughly cleaned and all phones memories will be reset and cleared.
• Grade C – The front and rear housing, battery cover and keypad will be in average/poor condition.  The screen and handset may have some minor fissures (not affecting normal use).  All handset accessories (e.g. clips and grommets) may not be included.  Batteries will not be new.  The handset will be thoroughly cleaned and all phone memories will be reset and cleared. 

All handsets have been reset to factory settings and tested. They are Pay As You Go mobile phones and do not include SIM cards.

2. Deliveries and Delivery Charges 

Prices are structured as shown below. Please contact us for further information regarding Royal Mail & Courier
Insurance values.

Via courier:

• All deliveries require a signature. If there is no-one available to sign for the package a card shall be left providing details to arrange re-delivery within 5 working days or from the local depot. If re-delivery is not arranged within 5 days the item will be returned to
  Purple Gossip. If a second delivery is arranged, a charge for the items return will apply together with an additional delivery charge.

Via Royal Mail - Recorded / Special Delivery:

• All deliveries are made within working hours and require a signature. If there is no-one available to sign for the package a card shall be left and your goods will be held at your local collection office. Proof of ID & address will be required when collecting your package. If a collection is not made within the given time period - your parcel will be returned to Purple Gossip and we will contact you to arrange a second delivery. In this instance a second delivery charge will be made.
• All orders are despatched within 2-3 working days after full payment has been received.
• Purple Gossip cannot be made responsible for any delays with the Courier & Royal Mail service.
• All deliveries are sent to the credit/debit card holder's address.
• In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to use alternative methods of shipment.
• Please note that, currently, we only ship goods within the UK & Channel Isles. Orders for customers outside the UK will not be processed.

3. Refunds and Returns
14 Day money back guarantee

• Any goods returned within 14 working days will be refunded the purchase price minus a £5 restocking fee.  In the case of faulty goods, or goods which have been requested for return, the full purchase price will be refunded to the card from which payment was received.
• When returning the goods over £15 in value, we advise you to insure against loss or damage in transit.  Credit will not be given for goods that are subsequently lost or damaged.  The cost for the service to return items is minimal and is payable at the Post Office Counter at the time of posting. 
• If the goods are faulty or damaged on arrival, then a credit will be given for the return of the package - subject to product inspection. However if the goods are unsuitable or no longer required (within 14 days from delivery date, a refund will be made for the goods, minus a £5 re-stocking fee. The responsibility & cost of returning the goods to Purple Gossip lies with the customer.
• Items should be returned in the exact condition they were received with all original packaging, contents, instructions and inserts.
• Purple Gossip will not refund faulty goods that have been damaged through misuse.
• Faults found after unlocking of mobile phones yourself or by using another provider will not be the responsibility of Purple Gossip and will not be replaced or refunded.
• Purple Gossip will not refund any costs for any unlocking services provided by another company under any circumstances.

• When returning the goods please include the order receipt and write on it "please refund" and the reason for the return.
• Purple Gossip will not pay for return carriage costs unless there is a fault with the phone prior to dispatch.

4. Acknowledgement and Acceptance of
your Order

• We will notify you by email to confirm receipt of your order. At this point the contractor for our sale and your purchase of the goods shall be made on the terms set out herein and the contract shall be formed at the place from which our Confirmation of Order email is sent to you. You may print this page from the website to be kept for your own records.

5. Cancellations

• A cancellation charge will be made for any item ordered that is then cancelled. A full refund of the purchase price and any delivery costs will be given - minus £5 cancellation fee.    

6. Fraud Prevention

• If an order exceeds £250, Purple Gossip may require documentation to show proof of name and address.  These can be returned by email, fax or post prior to the dispatch of the order; we will e-mail you if this is the case.
• Details of the IP address are noted at point of purchase.
• Credit Card Fraud is considered a serious offence and legal proceedings will be undertaken if any transaction is deemed fraudulent.
• Purple Gossip reserve the right to decline any order we suspect to be fraudulent. 
• Occasionally the decision will be made not to process an order if further security information has been requested and not obtained.  The order will
  not be processed and no payment will be debited from the card used to make the purchase.

7. Unlocking

• A selection of handsets provided by Purple Gossip have been unlocked. A list is always provided in the phones specification with details of what network the phone is compatible with. Unlocking a locked phone yourself or by another provider would be done at your own risk and is not the responsibility of Purple Gossip. Faults detected after attempting unlocking will be exempt from the terms & conditions. Please see Returns and Refunds section.

8. Disclaimer

• The use of the products sold on our website is solely the responsibility of the intended user, Purple Gossip will not be held responsible for an injury, accident, illness that may occur or misuse of any product purchased from us.
• Any items with defects would be dealt with by the original manufacturers.  Purple Gossip will not admit responsibility for any item causing any damage or illness or accident.  Any product purchased from us which is supposedly defective should be sent to the manufacturer for analysis. 
  Purple Gossip is acting as a distributor of any items purchased and will not be responsible to deal with any defective item 14 days after the item has been delivered.
• Any side affects experienced from a product on our site will be the responsibility of the user.  Purple Gossip endeavour where possible to give accurate and concise descriptions of items where required. Further information can be obtained by contacting Purple Gossip or the original manufacturer by telephone, email or letter.
• Product item images are example images only. Please contact sales at Purple Gossip to request further information on handset grades.

This price (£) denotes the average price advertised for brand new handsets.  The price listed (as a comparison) does not include discounted or sales items and is used as an indicative guide only.

By placing an order with us and/or giving data to us you confirm & agree that the information you provide will be held on Purple Gossip's database & may be shared with other divisions within our company. We will then email our monthly
